Who Will Be Here?
BOATS! Planes! CARS! Bikes! MILITARY! Amphibs! HOVERCRAFT! Kid's stuff! Fairground, CRAFTS - Have a go! SHOPS: Modern to Vintage! MUSIC! Lots of it: Food of all kinds! PUBS, BARS, Random Entertainment, The DOG SHOW! & MORE! & a lot of "celebrities" who may allow selfies!..
First and foremost, always, are the Dunkirk Little Ships: the valiant little boats that saved so many lives under enemy fire. We have as many as we can squeeze in and the owners are always keen to tell the story of their boat.. some whose parents or grandparents took them to Dunkirk.
Then of course, beautiful river craft of all shapes and sizes; of traditional construction, competing for a range of awards which will be presented late on Sunday afternoon. Boat-builders on shore offer equally beautiful boats or will restore yours. The Boat Building Academy will train you to build your own, or to make wooden furniture? and we hope to have a coracle maker.
Modern boats have their place here too: but only on shore. If you prefer to buy a low-maintenance modern craft, we have a special section for what will, of course, become the classics of the future. If you already have a boat, we have a chandler and others selling all the widgets you might need and someone selling an amazing range of stuff made from old sails!
The Craft area grows each year as more and more people want to have a go and our lovely spinners, weavers, lace-makers, basket and jewellery makers all want to encourage others to have a go.
Military re-enactors bring a vast array of vehicles to support the Dunkirkers. Heavy horses take you for carriage rides, Amphibious vehicles may offer you a ride up the river? Hundreds of beautiful old cars and motor bikes are there to be stroked admired and vintage Bicycles can be ridden.. at your own risk!
'Fawley Decor Fair" has moved to the TRAD: with dozens of Antique and Vintage dealers. Then of course there are shops to please all comers, from fripperies to fudge; dresses to deck-shoes. You CAN shop 'til you drop! - then you can relax with great food and drink and listen to terrific music 'til 11.00 p.m.
Children are well catered for: from face-painting to vintage fairground and dedicated games areas and a quiet space for feeding and nappy-changing.
Don't forget the Dog Show! 3.00 p.m. every afternoon: the battiest dog show you may ever encounter but not to be missed. No dog? Borrow one!
Just a taste of what you can expect at the Trad 2027
